About Photographs

There are many things that exists in this world that fascinate me. One of them is photography. I love capturing the moments in people’s lives. I do not know actually how to name the feeling I have while I do it, but I can say that is one of the greatest feelings I have ever felt in my life. I used to travel around the world and the best company I have is a camera. I like to take photos of everything I see, it can be anything from little grass growing on the concrete until kids playing with bubbles. In one of those trips I saw a man doing bubbles in front of a museum. I don’t know why but I was fascinated by the way he moved his arms to make the bubbles bigger and bigger. But what I couldn’t miss was his face. While a few people were taking photos of their kids playing with the bubbles, I started to take photos of him. It was in Berlin, in 2017.

In that same week, in Prague I had the similar experience, but this time I was with a close friend of mine. I remember that she said to me that bubbles made her laugh and it was amazing to see that in a popular square just for fun. I took a photo of my friend and she says it is her favorite photo from that four days trip we made. This is Giulia and what I love most about this photo is that she is not posing, she is simply being herself and having a great time.

In the summer of 2018 I went to Canada. I stayed twenty-four days in Vancouver in a family house. The couple that were my host were so kind and I have the pleasure to meet their daughters, sons-in-law and the grand-children. What I did not expect was that the whole family would like me back and invite me to the family events. I felt so privileged to be in a place with people that were so kind and amazing. One day was my host’s oldest grandchild’s birthday. She just turned seven and she invite me to the birthday. It was a picnic just for family and I took my camera with me. Talking with the family, I asked if I could take some photos of the kids and in the end a portrait of the Levitt Family and they loved the idea.

I like to look at these pictures and remember that in every person in those photos every person has a different memory of this day. That is why photos are so beautiful, those people are happy and they were enjoying this time. Photograph make us remember the good moments of life. The moments we were at our best and it connects with our good feelings.

Choosing these photos to this paper made me smile and think that I am such a privileged person for knowing those people and for being able to keep those moments forever, not only in photos, but in my memories for my whole life.
